WESLEY CHAPEL – Two more of the state's first surviving sextuplets are going home.
MacKenzie Margaret and Eli Benjamin Byler will be discharged from All Children's Hospital late this afternoon, a hospital spokesman announced today.
They'll join their brother, Brady Christopher, at their Wesley Chapel home. Brady was released from the hospital on Oct. 18. The sextuplets were born on Sept. 1
Three more sextuplets remain in the hospital: Ryan Patrick, Jackson Robert and Charlie Craig. Neonatologist Carine Stromquis says the four benchmarks for a baby to go home are taking every feeding by mouth, maintaining stable body temperature and respiratory functions and weighing at least 4 pounds.
The Byler family has three cribs set up in one bedroom. The other two bedrooms in the home are occupied by the parents and the sextuplets' older sister, Zoe, 4.
Tribune reporters Keith Morelli and Steve Kornacki contributed to this story.
