Regarding 'Crist: Slow Reservoirs Will Hurt N. Florida' (Metro, Oct. 26):
Now our governor is asking our president not to allow Georgia to keep its water in Georgia for their residents.
In just a few weeks the northern portions of Georgia may not have enough water for its millions of residents, but Florida wants sufficient Georgia water released so our fishing and oystering industries in the Gulf of Mexico and Panhandle area can make money. I guess that means we just let the folks of northern Georgia waste away from a lack of water.
If we are so concerned about that fresh water flowing down that river, fill up some tankers from our 'at last it's working' desalination plant and take our water to north Florida and dump it into the river. We could even consider trucking water to northern Georgia to replace the many thousands of gallons that we want them to 'send down the river' to us.
I remember when folks were more important than oysters, mussels and fish.
