Man Deemed Serial Rapist Enters Not-Guilty Pleas

TAMPA - Jerrod Pass, charged with seven counts of rape and one of attempted rape, pleaded not guilty today to charges of sexual battery and burglary with assault.

Police have said Pass broke into homes in the area west of the University of South Florida and raped women and girls as young as 10 years old. They said they have linked Pass to the crimes with DNA and victims' property found in his storage unit.

After Pass pleaded not guilty to several of the charges today, an investigator with the Hillsborough County State Attorney's Office took pictures of Pass' arms. Victims told authorities that their rapist had scars on his left arm near the wrist. Victims also have told police that their rapist had a distinctive foul odor.

Law enforcement is investigating the possibility that Pass, 38, was involved in other sexual assaults of women in the area and possibly of women outside the Bay area.

Pass now faces 39 charges and is being held without bail at Falkenburg Road Jail.
