WESLEY CHAPEL - The latest tenant for Cypress Creek Town Center appears to be an Ohio-based clothing store catering to preteen girls.
Justice Just For Girls has filed a building permit application with Pasco County for a 4,000-square-foot store that will be part of the mall now under development at State Road 56 and Interstate 75 by Cleveland-based Richard E. Jacobs Group.
The store is owned by Tween Brands. The Cypress Creek mall site is the store's first Pasco location. Hillsborough County sites include Citrus Park, Carrollwood and Brandon.
Florida has about 10 percent of Justice's stores with more planned, said Robert Atkinson, Tween Brands vice president for investor relations.
The Cypress Creek store, which will open with the rest of the mall in October 2008, is comparable in size to the rest of the company's outlets, Atkinson said.
In its latest financial report, Tween Brands, a publicly traded company, announced a 15 percent increase in net sales in the year from July 29, 2006, to Aug. 4, 2007.
That trend mirrored growth in the number of store locations, company officials said in their report. Justice Just For Girls stores' sales grew 13 percent in the same period, company officials said.
Plans now under review by Pasco County also reflected an array of retailers the Jacobs Group expects to populate its mall.
That list includes Books-A-Million, Circuit City, Old Navy and The Sports Authority. Linens-n-Things and Costco are also on the list along with Target and Kohl's.
Target and Kohl's have building permits pending county review.
Jacobs officials have declined to discuss potential tenants.
