TAMPA - Hillsborough County deputies are scouring a Pebble Creek subdivision northeast of Tampa this afternoon looking for a trio of burglars, Hillsborough County sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Carter said.
At 2:15 p.m., Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office responded to a home invasion robbery at a home on Big Pond Way in Tampa.
A 17-year-old was home alone when he heard a knock at the door, Carter said. He answered it to find another teen asking for someone that did not live at the residence. The resident tried to close the door when he saw a second male approaching with a shotgun.
The teen quickly closed the door and ran to a back bedroom where he called his father. The robbers then kicked in the front door and were stealing a television set when the teen's father arrived home.
The trio of robbers ran out of the house and dropped the television set about one block from the home.
The suspects were described as black or Hispanic males in their late teens with dark to medium complexions, standing 5 feet,10 inches tall and weighing about 150 to 170 pounds. The one armed with a gun had long hair pulled back in a ponytail.
