HUDSON – Mitchell forward Marisa Russo scored two goals to lead the Mustangs girls soccer team to a 4-0 Sunshine Athletic Conference win over Hudson Wednesday night at Hudson.
Mitchell (3-1) also had goals from Shelby Wright and Jessica Jagielski in the victory over the Cobras (0-1).
Russo, who has six goals this season, scored first, assisted by Wright 19 minutes into the contest. She also scored unassisted from 10 yards out 23 minutes into the game.
Mitchell led 2-0 at the half. The Mustangs dominated the shots on goal, 12-3.
Wright scored in the game's 25th minute and Jagielski added the final goal in the final minute on an assist from Rebekah Stockowski.
Hudson goalkeeper Audrey Collins made nine saves.
"I think for an early season game, they played well," said Mitchell coach Karl Kukec. "They connected the passing. Hudson gave us a little bit of a problem with their defense. Four goals is not so bad."
