CORAL GABLES - CORAL GABLES - QB Kyle Wright is hopeful he will be able to play Saturday against N.C. State.
Wright participated in 75 percent of Wednesday's practice after suffering a high ankle sprain and knee sprain on October 20 against Florida State.
"I had just a little more stability," Wright said after Wednesday's practice. "Once I get a little more confidence and know it is starting to get better, which I know it is, that will help me out."
Wright says he has realized that he only has a few weeks left for his career left and he does not want to miss any games as the season comes to an end.
"I don't want to miss anything," Wright said. "That is a last resort and worst case scenario for me at this point. My days are numbered here. I was sitting back and thinking about it and I only have a couple of weeks back."
"Right now if today was [the game] Kirby would start," Coach Randy Shannon said.
WIGGINS NOT PRACTICING: Rumors have been swirling about the status of freshman CB Doug Wiggins, who has not practiced for about a week.
However, Wiggins is still on the team, Shannon said.
"Doug has got some personal things he is taking care of and when he finishes them we'll discuss his problems," Shannon said.
Wiggins, 5-foot-11 and 190 pounds, has not played in a game this season after graduating from North Miami Beach a semester early.
