David Alexis Espino
TAMPA - Deputies arrested an 18-year-old man early Monday after a fight where they say he pushed a 10-year-old boy down a flight of stairs and threw a metal crutch at him.
David Alexis Espino of Temple Terrace was held without bail at Orient Road Jail Monday. He is charged with felony child abuse, misdemeanor domestic battery and resisting an officer without violence.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded to an apartment at River Resort Lane and North 50th Street where Espino lives with others as a family because of a loud argument about 2:20 a.m. Monday. Upon arriving, they saw Espino punching a 30-year-old woman in the face, the sheriff's office said.
When Espino refused to stop fighting, a deputy zapped him with a Taser, an arrest affidavit states. Espino pulled out the Taser's prongs and ran, but a deputy caught him and arrested him, the affidavit states.
After further investigation, deputies learned Espino also had slapped a 28-year-old woman, shoved the child down the stairs and threw a metal crutch at him.
