Chat Line Conversation Leads To Lewd And Lascivious Charge

TAMPA - A 38-year-old man was charged with having sex with a 15-year-old female after meeting her at a Columbus Drive hotel room on Wednesday, Tampa police reported.

Ardell Louis, of Tampa, was charged with a lewd and lascivious at with a child under 16, according to a police report. He is being held at Orient Road Jail on $2,500 bond.

Louis made contact with the victim on a phone chat line on Tuesday, according to a police report.

The victim told Louis she was 19 years when he asked for her age, the report stated. They agreed to meet in his hotel room at 4530 Columbus Drive on Wednesday morning.

Louis told police he did not know the victim was a minor and that they had sex for an hour at the hotel, the police report stated.

After the hotel room, the 15-year-old female went to Blake High School and notified authorities. Tampa police arrested Louis at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
