IPod – The initial model in 2001 was priced at $500. It now can be purchased for $250.
CD player– Original models could be as high as $1,000, but most were priced from $600 to $800. Today, one can be purchased for less $100.
DVD player– Initially offered at $500 to $1,000, depending on the brand, they can now be purchased for $50 to $200.
Handheld calculator – Original models sold for $300 to $400 in the mid-1970s. Today they can be purchased for as little as $20.
VCRs – Initially, they sold for $1,000 to $1,200. By the time DVD players were available in the late 1990s, they could be purchased for $50 to $70.
