ST. PETERSBURG - Detectives this morning released surveillance photographs from two armed robberies that they say can help them identity the robber.
About 2:15 a.m. Aug. 10, the man approached a clerk outside an Exxon gas station at 3355 Ninth Ave. N., St. Petersburg police said. After pulling out a black semiautomatic handgun, he ordered the clerk inside and, while holding the gun to the clerk's back, had the clerk take cash from a register and another location, police said. The thief brought a plastic bag for the money, police said.
He then took off and was seen driving a dark, older-model sedan with a tag number that began with "T91," police said.

On Aug. 14, a man entered the Walgreens at 3077 54th Ave. S. about 11:15 p.m., mumbled something to the clerk, then left, police said. He returned, demanded money, and lifted his shirt to reveal a gun, threatening to shoot the clerk, police said.
When she informed him she needed a manager to get the cash, the man waited, then fled with the money, police said.
He is described as 25 years old, black, 6 feet tall and 160 to 180 pounds. He has a medium build, a goatee, dark skin and shoulder-length dreadlocks, police said.
