Tracking down former stars from the U.S. Women's Soccer Team:
F Michelle Akers, 41, Orlando
She helps promote the game of soccer through public appearances and has authored several books, including one that deals with her battle with chronic fatigue syndrome.
F Mia Hamm, 35, Los Angeles
In 2003, she married L.A. Dodgers third baseman Nomar Garciaparra and earlier this year gave birth to twin girls, Grace Isabella and Ava Caroline. Hamm is actively involved in her Mia Foundation, which she established to assist with bone marrow research and to help promote women's sports programs.
Brandi Chastain, 39,
Santa Clara, Calif.
Chastain has worked as a broadcaster for ESPN/ABC and authored a book about women's sports titled 'It's Not About the Bra.' She gave birth to her first child, son Jaden Chastain Smith, in 2006.
Joy Fawcett, 39,
Orange County, Calif.
A mother of three, Fawcett earned the title 'Ultimate Soccer Mom' after coaching UCLA, coaching a youth club and playing for the national team. She still plays organized soccer in a coed league in Orange County.
Julie Foudy, 36, San Diego
Foudy is a soccer analyst for ESPN/ABC and will be one of the match and studio commentators for this World Cup. She also serves as vice president of the Women's Sports Foundation, an advocacy organization for the advancement of girls and women in sports.
