TAMPA - Tampa Fire Rescue members will participate in a brief Sept. 11 memorial ceremony Tuesday at their respective fire stations.
An event at Downtown Fire Station No. 1, 808 Zack St., will include Capt. Mark Bogush and his search-and-rescue dog Marley, who were dispatched to the World Trade Center site in 2001.
Minutes before 10 a.m., a company officer will read the following: "On September 11, 2001, this Nation's Fire Service was tested in regards to our response and mitigation of a situation as never seen before in this country. Although a tragedy in many aspects in regards to loss of life, it has strengthened America's commitment for public safety through partnerships with each other and the community. We are gathered here today to remember those that lost their life in the name of freedom."
At 10 a.m., there will be a minute of silence.
