USF Set Builder Charged With Molestation

TAMPA - A theater set builder at the University of South Florida has been charged with molesting two girls.

Thomas "Sparky" Lewis, 61, is a scenic studio supervisor and builds sets and backdrops for the theater department at USF's College of Visual and Performing Arts. He previously was reported to be an instructor at USF.

Deputies arrested Lewis shortly after midnight at his home on seven counts of lewd and lascivious molestation, jail records show. He posted bail of $52,500 and was released.

Lewis inappropriately touched the private areas of the victims, both younger than 18, while massaging their feet and legs, according to an arrest report. Neither girl is a student at the university.
