ST. PETERSBURG - A 33-year-old nursing assistant was arrested Wednesday on 16 counts of stealing the identities of elderly patients at a nursing home, police told News Channel 8.

Natasha Tanksley, of 3526 14th Ave. S., was charged with defrauding and stealing the identities of patients at the Apollo Health & Rehabilitation Center, 1000 24th St. N., police said. Tanksley was arrested early Wednesday morning.
Police told News Channel 8 that Tanksley and an unnamed accomplice made more than $100,000 in fraudulent charges by opening numerous charge accounts in Pinellas, Polk, Hillsborough and Manatee counties.
Tanksley and the accomplice went to stores, including Sears, JC Penney and Rooms To Go, police said.
Tanksley was charged with 16 counts of principal criminal use of personal information, three counts of scheme to defraud and possession of marijuana, according to arrest records. Bail was set at $190,000.
