Man's Lewd Display At Pool Nets Arrest, Deputies Say

CLEARWATER - A 42-year-old man was arrested Tuesday afternoon after exposing an artificial penis to adolescent boys in locker rooms at community pools and public restrooms, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office reported.

Scott Weigand, of 164 Clearwater-Largo Road, which is the address of Sunbeam Motel in Largo, was charged with three counts of lewd and lascivious exhibition.

Weigand hid a small video camera in a gym bag and videotaped his activities, authorities said in a statement.

Authorities said he would frequent the pools at Clearwater YMCA, 1005 S. Highland Ave., and at Golda Meir/Kent Jewish Center, 2010 Greenbriar Blvd. Detectives have been on the case for more than a month after receiving information Weigand was loitering at community pools and fast-food restaurant restrooms.

Bail for Weigand was set at $60,000 late Tuesday.
