TROOP DRAWDOWN: In an address to the nation at 9 p.m. Thursday, President Bush is expected to mostly endorse the recommendations of his top general to reduce troops in Iraq by as many as 30,000 by summer, but condition the reductions on progress.
POINTED QUESTIONS: In appearances before two Senate committees Tuesday, Army Gen. David Petraeus and Ambassador Ryan Crocker faced much harsher questioning - including from Republicans - than they had a day earlier in the House.
LOCAL REACTION: Republican Sen. Mel Martinez said that 'we've made progress.' Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson said Iraq is 'still a mess.' Florida's congressional delegation responds to Petraeus' long-awaited report on Iraq to Capitol Hill these past two days.
