Pasco County paused Tuesday to remember the victims of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks and to support members of the military. Events were held throughout the county, including the continuation of a tradition started one year after the attacks.
The GFWC Lutz-Land O' Lakes Woman's Club invited residents to join them in waving flags on State Road 54 in Land O' Lakes. Later in the day, they waved flags in Lutz in Hillsborough County.
Pasco-Hernando Community College held a flag ceremony and memorial as well as a celebration of the Constitution.
A community remembrance also took place at Sims Park in New Port Richey, where those attending were encouraged to participate in Operation Shoebox by dropping off personal care items and treats for the troops.
