Magnet Program, School Choice Fall Application Period Runs Sept. 17-28

Tampa - Tampa - The Hillsborough Choice application period for magnet programs and School Choice for the 2007-08 school year reopens Monday and runs through Sept. 28, according to a Hillsborough County School District news release.

Under the choice plan, students can apply for a magnet school or another school with available space within Hillsborough County. A student who wishes to remain at his/her current school does not need to complete an application.

School choice is available for students entering kindergarten through 11th grade, but only magnet elementary and middle schools are available during this application period. High school magnet programs are not accepting applications at this time.

Applications are available online at www.sdhc.k12.fl.us/choice or from any school site beginning Monday. Parents can call the Choice Information Line at (813) 272-4692 for answers to their questions.
