NEW PORT RICHEY - Police are investigating a six-vehicle crash that temporarily shut down part of U.S. 19 this afternoon.
Cars spun out in every direction and debris is strewn along U.S. 19. It's not clear how many people are injured. One man, who police say is in critical condition, was transported locally while paramedics performed CPR.
The crash also involved a cement truck, which police say preliminarily they do not believe was the cause of the crash, but it collided with a Volkswagen Beetle.
"We're a good couple of hours out here," New Port Richey Assistant Police Chief Darryl Garman he said, predicting the length of the investigation.
