Regarding '3 Who Will Bring Bay Area's Past To Life' (front page, Sept. 11):
Your story about the Tampa Bay History Center noted that 'taxpayers aren't on the hook for all of the costs' since land was acquired through a state grant. Where did the state get the money, from the tooth fairy?
There is a common misconception that there is such a thing as 'government money.' Whether city, county, state, or federal, government money is just tax money, and any money received from a government agency started out as a tax receipt.
