A sport utility vehicle rolled over while traveling westbound on Interstate 4 late Wednesday night, ejecting three of nine occupants of a van, critically injuring one, a Florida Highway Patrol trooper reported.
A St. Petersburg woman, Jasmine L. Matamoros, 3410 N. 21st St., lost control of a 1999 Ford while driving near the 50th Street exit at about 11:45 p.m.
After veering onto the north shoulder of the road, the van flipped over and ejected Jennifer Y. Jabel, 26; Jonathan R. Allen, 31; and Paul E. Higgins, all of Tampa, Trooper E. Millan-Cintron said.
Jabel was in critical condition at Tampa General Hospital on Friday. Allen was treated and released from St. Joseph Hospital. The rest of the van's occupants were treated and released from Tampa General. They are: Matamoros, 29, Higgins and passengers Andrew P. Laflin, 27, of Clearwater; Megan C. Centri, 22; Stephanie J. Jackson, 25; Thomas Hernandez, 28, and Stephen K. Wright, 29, all of Tampa.
Charges in the accident, if any, are pending, Cintron said in the report.
