Davenport Reaches Bali Open Final
NUSA DUA, Indonesia - Lindsay Davenport advanced to the final of the Bali Open in her first singles tournament since having a baby in June.
Davenport cruised past Sara Errani 6-1, 6-3 Saturday. In today's final, she will face second-seeded Daniela Hantuchova, who defeated qualifier Sorana Cirstea 7-5, 6-1.
Davenport played doubles at the Pilot Pen in late August and returned to singles play for the first time since having son, Jagger, this summer.
FED CUP: With Maria Sharapova cheering from the bench, Russia moved within one victory of its third Fed Cup title.
Svetlana Kuznetsova beat Mara Santangelo of Italy 6-1, 6-2 at Moscow to the put the Russians ahead 2-0 in the top team event in women's tennis. Anna Chakvetadze struggled past Francesca Schiavone 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 in the opener. Reverse singles and doubles in the best-of-five format are today.

Cowboys' Plane Forced To Land
NEW ORLEANS - The Dallas Cowboys' charter flight to Miami made an unscheduled landing Saturday at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport because of a hydraulic problem.
Cowboys spokesman Rich Dalyrmple said the problem on the Boeing 757 was fixed and the team didn't need a new plane.
The Cowboys resumed their trip after a delay of more than two hours. They will play the Miami Dolphins today.
STEELERS: Wide receiver Hines Ward was fined $5,000 by the NFL for a late hit and unnecessary roughness in last week's game against the Cleveland Browns.
Ward hit cornerback Daven Holly from behind in the third quarter and was penalized 15 yards for a personal foul. The Steelers won the game 34-7.

Spartans Open SSC Play With Win
MELBOURNE - Alisha Green had 22 kills and Gabriela Saade had 27 assists to lead the University of Tampa volleyball team (11-1) to a 30-20, 30-16, 30-16 victory against Florida Tech (11-2) in the Spartans' Sunshine State Conference opener.
Green, a sophomore, tied the school record for kills in a three game match. She now shares this record with Erica Womack and Ania Ruiz. All-American Katelen Dixon added 10 kills.
•Kristina Fabris had 18 kills and Marcela Gurgel added 16 as the host University of South Florida (8-1) took a 30-27, 30-25, 24-30, 30-17 victory against George Mason (7-5) to win the Best Western Invitational.
HORSE RACING
Lear's Princess Wins Gazelle Stakes
NEW YORK - Lear's Princess overtook Belmont Stakes winner Rags to Riches in the stretch and pulled off an upset in the $250,000 Gazelle Stakes at Belmont Park.
Rags to Riches, one of racing's most popular stars after becoming the first filly in 102 years to win the Belmont, was sent off as the 2-5 favorite by the small crowd of 7,361. But she was unable to hold off the surging Lear's Princess in the final furlong.
Ridden by John Velazquez, Rags to Riches moved into the lead around the final turn, but Lear's Princess caught her midway through the stretch and won by a half length, covering the 1 1/8 miles in 1:47.86.
ELSEWHERE
Reese Named Top Bassmaster Angler
KISSIMMEE - Skeet Reese of Auburn, Calif., held off Kevin VanDam to win the Bassmaster angler of the year title at the season-ending event on Lake Tohopekaliga.
The victory capped a season in which he won on the Potomac River in August and had seven top-10 finishes.
JUDO: At Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Ronda Rousey won the silver medal at the Judo World Championships in the 154-pound division, the first American woman to medal at worlds since 1995.
