Tampa - Tampa - Sometime this morning, the University of South Florida is expected to exceed 20,000 season tickets.
Through Tuesday, the school had sold 19,996 season tickets, the second-most in program history. USF will continue to sell season tickets through Saturday.
NEW BIG 3? Forget about the state's "Big 4," USF junior WR Taurus Johnson said the Bulls are among the state's "Big 3" programs.
"I thought we were already in the Big 3," Johnson said. "I didn't know Miami was still in there. … I think we could be in front of Florida, but everybody has their own opinion."
Johnson's bravado continued when asked about Saturday's game against North Carolina.
"We're going to win the game," he said. "It's going to be a pretty good game."
INJURY REPORT: Offensive linemen Nick Capogna (knee), Matt Huners (knee) and Danny Tolley (groin) practiced but aren't expected to play Saturday.
BAND OF BULLS: USF coaches and players are now sporting black wristbands with the words "Finish Strong" on them.
The bands are in honor of 44-year-old leukemia patient (and USF grad) Jeff Wagner, whose "Finish Strong" motto was used by the Bulls for inspiration during their overtime win at Auburn on Sept 8.
Tribune correspondent Gregg Becnel contributed to this report.
