TAMPA Two University of South Florida students indicted on federal explosives charge will be in U.S District Court on Oct. 3, records show.
Ahmed Mohamed and Youssef Megahed were indicted after their car was stopped in South Carolina last month.
In the trunk, deputies found sections of PVC pipe stuffed with an explosive mixture, authorities said. Investigators say they also found a container of gasoline, 20 feet of safety fuse and an electric drill.
Both men are charged with transporting explosives without a permit, relating to the stuffed PVC pipes deputies have described as pipe bombs.
The case was assigned to Judge Steven Merryday.
