Police Seek Man Who Robbed Bank Wearing 'Scream' Mask

ST. PETERSBURG - Robbery detectives are looking for a man who robbed a Cornerstone Bank branch in St. Petersburg on Monday wearing a replica of the mask from the movie 'Scream.'

As the man entered the bank at 6600 Central Ave., he ordered everyone to get down, St. Petersburg police spokesman George Kajtsa said. He approached tellers, demanded money from cash drawers, placed an undisclosed amount in a white, plastic grocery bag and ran away, Kajtsa said.

He never displayed a weapon or implied he had one, Kajtsa said.

The robber is described as a man in his 20s, about 5-foot-9 with a slender build and red hair shaped by a buzz cut, Kajtsa said. He has a piercing on his left eyebrow.
