ST. PETERSBURG - Ryan Patrick Byler, one of Florida's first sextuplets, born Sept. 1, was upgraded from serious to fair condition Thursday at All Children's Hospital.
"His breathing stabilized and now he's reacting well to eating, too," said his father, Ben Byler. "He's catching up to the other guys."
Ryan was taken off a ventilator while Jackson Robert, who remains in serious condition, continues requiring a ventilator and gave the family a scare Wednesday.
"Jackson coded and quit breathing at about 2:30 in the morning," Byler said. "He had mucus in his lungs, but they resuscitated him fast and he stabilized."
Brady Christopher, Eli Benjamin, Charlie Craig and Mackenzie Margaret are in fair condition. They are expected to remain in the hospital until November.
