RIVERVIEW - A minor fender bender between two school buses interrupted student dismissal Friday afternoon at Frost Elementary School, but no one was seriously hurt, officials said.
Hillsborough County Fire Rescue responded at 2:35 p.m. to the parking lot at 3950 S. Falkenburg Rd., south of Camden Field Parkway.
One bus rear-ended another in the parking lot, said district spokesman Steve Hegarty.
"I just spoke to the principal, and she said we might have one cut lip and a few bumped heads, but that's to be expected when you have one bus bump another," he said. "There's some jostling."
Five children were taken to Brandon Regional Hospital for evaluation, Hegarty said. In all, more than 100 children may have been on the two buses during the collision.
"There were no broken bones," Hegarty said. "It's the kind of thing where you call the parents and have mom pick up kids."
