PLANT CITY - Downtown Plant City's premiere mega-antique flea market — downsized last year to 3,000 square feet — is about to double in size at a new location.
Frenchman's Market, which once occupied as much as 12,000 square feet at Collins and Drane streets, lost much of its space when the Church of Scientology purchased the old Hooker's Department Store building from David Hawthorne.
On Nov. 1, Frenchman's Market will reopen at another Hawthorne building at Evers and Drane streets.
That building had been occupied until this month by Antiques & More. Vendors from that store have moved across the way to 105 Evers St.
The small building Frenchman's now occupies remains on the market for sale, Hawthorne associate Diane Hunter said. It also is available for lease.
