TALLAHASSEE - FSU freshman offensive tackle Antwane Greenlee walked out of Tallahassee Memorial Hospital under his own power Saturday morning after being released with what was determined to be a neck sprain.
Greenlee, who was taken off the practice field in an ambulance Wednesday, spent three nights in the hospital while doctors monitored his condition. A timetable for his return to practice has not been set.
Offensive line coach Rick Trickett said the injury occurred during a one-on-one pass-rushing drill when the 6-foot-6 lineman took a shot under the chin that popped his head back awkwardly.
Trickett said after Thursday's practice that he still hopes to redshirt Greenlee, who has not appeared in a game this season, but he will play if he is needed. The Columbus, Ga., native was a four-star prospect as a high school senior and chose FSU over Florida, Georgia, Auburn and Clemson.
