TAMPA - Friday's Big East showdown with No. 5 West Virginia hasn't sold out yet, but it might Monday.
Only about 3,000 tickets remained as of late Saturday night. Buoyed by the University of South Florida's first national ranking, the school is expecting its first home sellout.
USF has sold about 20,119 season tickets, second to the inaugural season in 1997 (20,619).
USF also has four-game mini-ticket packages available. For more information, call 1-800-GoBulls.
SACK HAPPY: DE George Selvie increased his national-best sack total with three more Saturday against North Carolina.
In three games, the 6-foot-4, 242-pound sophomore has 8.5 sacks. The team's single-season record is 10, by Shurron Pierson in 2001 and Terrence Royal in 2005.
'That was probably the most physical game I've ever been in,' UNC QB T.J. Yates said.
GETTING HIS KICKS: Sophomore Delbert Alvarado, who missed four of six field-goal attempts at Auburn, hit all three of his tries (32, 23 and 40 yards) against UNC.
'I had to make them. It's about time,' Alvarado said. 'I wasn't thinking about the Auburn game. I just had to go out and make my kicks.'
FIRST PICKS: Ben Moffitt and Brouce Mompremier made their first career interceptions, the first time in history the Bulls had two interceptions in a game by linebackers.
Moffitt's 41-yard return set up a field goal, making it 23-3. Mompremier's 17-yard return set up Ben Williams' 5-yard run for a 30-3 lead.
HUH?: With seven minutes remaining in the third quarter and USF with more than 300 total yards, the P.A. announcer proclaimed, 'USF has just gone over 100 yards of total offense,' the instant Williams was dropped for a 3-yard loss.
USF has a promotion for a free sandwich whenever the Bulls gain more than 100 yards.
