SARASOTA - The National Transportation Safety Board, in a preliminary report on a helicopter crash that killed two people last week, said a cause for the crash has not been determined.
The helicopter crashed Sept. 11 into the Gulf of Mexico during a video and photo shoot. In addition to the two killed, the crash seriously injured a third.
The driver of the speedboat who was being photographed by passengers in the helicopter told investigators the boat was traveling about 85 mph before the crash.
The boat driver reported the helicopter dipped down and the right front skid hit the water first.
The aircraft disintegrated when it hit the water, according to the report.
