TAMPA - TECO crews restored power shortly after 4 a.m. today to customers who were without power overnight after a car hit a nearby electrical pole.
A two-car accident at Cleveland Street and Hyde Park Avenue caused a power outage Tuesday night in the area when one of the vehicles struck an electrical pole, TECO spokesman Rick Morera said.
The intersection was reopened this morning, and problems affecting a nearby Lee Roy Selmon Expressway ramp were resolved.
There were 15 customers affected, including Tampa Baptist Manor, a retirement high-rise with more than 200 residents, at 215 W. Grand Ave., Morera said.
A person involved in the accident was taken to Tampa General Hospital, a Tampa police dispatcher said.
