WESLEY CHAPEL - The developers of The Grove at Wesley Chapel shopping center have lined up more tenants for their 800,000-square-foot complex off Oakley Boulevard.
Some of them - Eyeglass World, Verizon Wireless and Chili's restaurant - will look familiar to anyone traveling Pasco's rapidly blooming suburban landscape.
For others, such as Fuddruckers hamburger restaurant and Uno Chicago Grill, Pasco County will be the first location in the Tampa Bay area.
Also on the list are Ponte Vedra-based Akaya Japanese Restaurant and Pizzeria Valdiano, which has branches in Orlando and Lakeland.
Plans for Ted's Montana Grill, founded by former media mogul Ted Turner, are on hold for now, said Elizabeth Back, who is handling leasing at The Grove on behalf of Colliers Arnold real estate company.
The next tenants are the latest installment in the development of one of Wesley Chapel's three major shopping venues. Pittsburgh-based Echo Real Estate Services plans to open the open-air 'lifestyle center' next month.
The plaza's major tenants include Best Buy, Toys R Us and Dick's Sporting Goods.
The Grove also will give central Pasco its first movie theater when Cobb Cinemas opens its 16-screen multiplex at the plaza's north end.
Several of the newly announced restaurants will cluster themselves outside the theater. Others will open Coconut Court, which face the plaza's manmade lake.
Chili's, Eyeglass World and Verizon Wireless will be part of a strip center facing County Road 54 between Oakley Boulevard and Interstate 75, Back said.
