TAMPA University of South Florida C Nick Capogna, who suffered a left knee injury early in the season opener and missed the Bulls' past two games, will play Friday against No. 5 West Virginia, Coach Jim Leavitt said.
It wasn't known whether Capogna will start, but his return gives USF more flexibility in its substitution system. Capogna's availability allows Jake Griffin, who has played center the past 2½ games, to return to his left guard position.
SUNTRUST GOING GREEN: SunTrust Financial Center in downtown Tampa will glow green and gold on Friday.
Green and gold lighting gel lenses are being overnighted from New York and electrical work is under way for Stiles Property Management - which began managing SunTrust Financial Center last week for the building's new owners - to build a pyramid design at the top of the building in time for the game.
ODDS AND ENDS: USF officials are asking USF fans to where green Friday to "Green Out" Raymond James Stadium. … Because USF won the fan voting on ESPN.com, the Bulls will receive Lou Holtz's weekly pep talk. It will air at halftime of tonight's Southern Miss-Boise State game and during Friday's pre-game show. … Several Bucs are expected to attend Friday's game, including RB Mike Alstott and WR Joey Galloway.
