THE DIFFERENCE: Spartan defensive back Jamel Middleton recovered a fumble and ran it in 96 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter. Then with 1:34 left to go in the third quarter, Middleton returned a punt 55 yards for the winning touchdown.

GAME NOTES: The Spartans split their carries between three running backs - Mondo Purcell (seven carries for 15 yards), Jamar Burns (six carries for 22 yards) and Orey Gaines (five carries for 47 yards). … Burns also caught a 44-yard pass for a touchdown from Anthony Beko in the third quarter. … Running back Maurice Hagens led the Titans, rushing 18 times for 137 yards and two touchdowns. … Tampa Bay Tech quarterback Mario Tucker was five of 16 for 70 yards. Titans receiver Ryan Barn caught all of Tucker's passes.

STAT OF THE GAME: TBT was penalized 11 times for 110 yards, the Spartans had 9 penalties for 70 yards.
