TAMPA - Hillsborough School board member Jennifer Faliero started moving back to her elected east Hillsborough district Thursday after moving to South Tampa in mid-June.
Faliero said she knew in June that the move out of her district might cause problems but she had no alternatives with a divorce, a house in Valrico that didn't sell and little money. A rental on Davis Islands fit her budget, she said. One of her daughters started school at Plant High and the other at Wilson Middle School.
Both daughters are back in east Hillsborough schools, and Faliero said her move to Valrico will be complete today.
Faliero was elected in 2002 to the District 4 seat, representing sections of east Hillsborough, including Plant City, Brandon and Valrico. She was re-elected to another four-year term in 2006.
School board members in Florida are required to live in the district where they seek election and to remain there, although some temporary moves have been tolerated.
