Students Put Icing On School's Birthday

On Friday morning, seniors, junior kindergarten and senior kindergarten students donned chef's hats and aprons to celebrate the 16{+t}{+h} birthday of Academy at the Lakes.

Early childhood students baked cakes under the direction of the 26 members of the Class of 2008 at the Land O' Lakes school, a news release stated.

Batter mixing and stirring started in morning in the junior kindergarten and senior kindergarten classrooms on the Wendlek Campus and was followed up by cake frosting in the afternoon on the Melech Deck at the McCormick Campus.

Cakes were to be frosted in the colors of the four Academy at the Lakes Houses: peregrine/red; osprey/blue; night hawk/yellow and kestrel/green. All participants were wearing shirts and aprons in the colors of their respective houses during the mixing, baking and frosting.
