TAMPA - A Tampa man has been charged with four felony counts of driving under the influence after deputies say he crashed his truck into four cars and tried to leave the scene.
Joshua T. Ellis, 26, of 2112 Belle Chase Circle, was arrested 12:34 a.m. today near his home.
He was charged with driving under the influence for the third, fourth, fifth and sixth time, charges show.
Breath tests recorded his blood alcohol level at .244, .266 and .260, more than three times the legal limit, an arrest affidavit states. Florida law presumes a person is intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 or higher.
Ellis' white Ford truck struck four cars in an apartment complex and he "was held by citizens after attempting to flee," an arrest affidavit shows. Witnesses told deputies Ellis had driven the vehicle.
He remains in Orient Road Jail, with bail set at $8,000.
