If we all like eating at homey restaurants so much, why don't we just eat at home? Better french fries, beer on tap and no dishes to wash, that's why! Host George Duran takes a look at the concept of family dining, from the first American mom-and-pop eateries to today's family-oriented chain restaurants.

In "The One With Five Steaks and an Eggplant," an episode from the second season, a night out at an upscale restaurant is no big deal for the friends with good jobs, but Joey, Phoebe and Rachel have a tough time enjoying a meal they can't afford.

Rachel: I will have the (lowers voice to a whisper) side salad.

Waiter: And what will that be on the side of?

Rachel: I don't know. Why don't you just put it right here next to my water?

Felix likes to clean and cook; Oscar, not so much. There are a few great food scenes in this classic film, including that famous spat over spaghetti ... oops, make that linguine. And then there's this appetizing exchange from Oscar's poker night:

Oscar: Who wants food?

Murray: What do ya got?

Oscar: I've got brown sandwiches and green sandwiches. Which one do ya want?

Murray: What's the green?

Oscar: It's either very new cheese or very old meat.

Murray: I'll take the brown.
