The Polk County's Emergency Management Division has released its map showing evacuation shelter locations for the hurricane season that will start June 1.
Residents can pick up copies at Publix supermarkets and any county library. The maps are free.
Polk County does not have evacuation zones such as those of coastal counties that must be evacuated because of storm surge, but residents in mobile homes and houses that will not withstand a storm's winds should evacuate.
The color of this year's map is lime green, and residents should throw away shelter maps of any other color.
Residents also can get a copy of the map during the county's hurricane expo at the Winter Haven Orange Dome from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 7.
Hurricane season runs from June 1 to Nov. 30.
