Plant receiver Derek Winter added another accolade to his list when he was honored as the Scholar-Athlete at Wednesday night's National Football Foundation Athletes Banquet.
Winter, who won the Guy Toph Award last season, was one of 17 players from Hillsborough County nominated for the award.
The county's leading receiver the past two seasons, who is heading to Auburn University in the fall, has a 5.67 GPA at Plant.
Also recognized Wednesday night was King's Michael Jones, who was the Sam Bailey Scholarship winner.

FOOTBALL: Plant City has named Jason Strunk as its new football coach, according to an e-mail from Raiders athletic director Trent Hobbs. Strunk has been a high school and college assistant in Pennsylvania since 2000. He replaces Kevin Kelley, who resigned after the 2007 season.
