The First Priority Bank of Bradenton has closed, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. and the state Office of Financial Regulation announced today.
The FDIC will transfer insured deposits and certain assets to SunTrust Bank, the agencies announced today in a news release. Customers with insured deposits will become SunTrust customers and have access to their money through ATMs, debit cards and checks. Online service, however, will be down this weekend and resume on Monday, according to the release.
First Priority, which had been in operation since December 2003, is the eighth U.S. bank to close this year.
At the time of closing, First Priority had approximately $1.3 million in potentially uninsured deposits, the agencies said.
For customers with questions, the FDIC has established a toll-free number, 1-800-837-0215. They can also visit the FDIC's Web site at http://www.fdic.gov/bank/individual/failed/firstpr....
