With many working parents these days, before and after school care has become a necessity for many families.

There are numerous private companies, day cares, churches and other groups that offer these services. One of the most popular programs is operated by the school district.

Hillsborough County Public School Out of School Time, known as HOST, offers safe, supervised environments for elementary and middle school student enrichment.

Many of the elementary and middle schools in the county offer some form of the program and families should contact their local schools to register.

HELP FROM THE DISTRICT

Elementary Schools:

Annual family registration fee — $30

Weekly fee 10-month after school plus 10-week summer — $48, (third child free, fourth child $24)

Weekly fee 10-month before school — $10 (1 hour, no multi-child discount)

Weekly fee magnet 10-month after school — $42 (third child free, fourth child $21)

Weekly fee summer only — $80 (third child free, fourth child $40)

Middle Schools:

Annual family registration fee — $15

Weekly fee 10-month after school — $25 (second and third child $20, fourth child free)

Weekly fee 10-month before school — $10 (1 hour, no multi-child discount)

Weekly fee 10-month before school — $15 (1.5 hours, no multi-child discount)

Weekly fee magnet 10-month after school — $30 (second and third child $20, fourth child free)

Weekly Fee summer only — $65 (second and third child $20, fourth child free)
