TAMPA - Hillsborough County Fire Rescue quickly knocked down a two-alarm condominium fire late Saturday night.
The first units on the scene at Whisper Lake Condominums on Lake Huron Drive near Waters Avenue and Dale Mabry Highway saw heavy smoke coming from a first-floor unit. They requested the second alarm out of concern the blaze would spread to other units, according to a news release.
The crews found a kitchen fire in the first-floor unit and brought it under control in about 15 minutes, the release said.
No injuries were reported, and fire damage was limited to the kitchen with some smoke and water damage to the rest of the unit. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
