Several organizations are sponsoring candidates' forums in the next few weeks. Here are some details:

Gulf Harbors Having Candidate Event
The Gulf Harbors Civic Association is sponsoring a Meet the Candidates Night at its Thursday town hall meeting. This is an opportunity to become acquainted with the candidates running for office in the Aug. 26 primary election. Candidates for school board, clerk of court, sheriff and County Commission districts 1, 3, and 5 will attend.

A "pass a dish" dinner will start at 6:30 pm, followed by the town hall meeting at 7:30 pm. Those coming to dinner should bring a dish for six.

Commission Candidates Having Forum

An east Pasco County primary election candidates' forum will be held for candidates seeking seats on the Pasco County Board of Commissioners and the post of the Clerk of Circuit Court of Pasco County on Monday at Pasco Middle School, 13925 14th St. A time for meeting the candidates will begin at 6 p.m., with the forum beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Panelists will be William Yelverton of The Tampa Tribune and C.T. Bowen of The St. Petersburg Times. The forum is presented by local chambers of commerce.

Candidates Share Views At 2 Public Debates
The West Pasco Chamber of Commerce invites the public to political forums on Tuesday and Aug. 12.

They will take place at Pasco-Hernando Community College West Campus, 10230 Ridge Road.

Tuesday's lineup: 5:45 p.m., county commission District 3, Democrats; 6:30 p.m., nonpartisan school board member, District 2; 7:15 p.m., Republican sheriff candidates; and 8 p.m., Pasco clerk of the circuit court candidates.

The Aug. 12 lineup: 5:45 p.m., Democratic sheriff candidates; 6:30 p.m., county commission District 3, Republicans; 7:15 p.m., county commission District 1, Republicans; 8 p.m., county commission District 5, Republicans.
