TAMPA - Deputies arrested a 26-year-old woman on a drunken driving charge Sunday after her car plowed into a stopped sheriff's cruiser, sending the squad car more than 90 feet into an intersection.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said Yvonna Szczeblewska of Palm Harbor hit the rear of the cruiser stopped at a traffic light on westbound Hillsborough Avenue at Webb Road at about 3:40 a.m.
The impact from her 2003 Volkswagen pushed the deputy's Ford Crown Victoria 93 feet, the sheriff's office said.
The sheriff's corporal in the cruiser was treated and released from St. Joseph's Hospital.
Szczeblewska was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence with property damage. She was released from Orient Road Jail on Sunday afternoon on $500 bail.
She refused to take a breath test, the sheriff's office said.
