HUDSON - Linda Margarette Finer jumped in a sink hole known for its cave-diving Saturday afternoon.
She didn't come back up until it was too late.
Sharon Allred told deputies she and Finer hopped in a golf cart and drove to the spot across from 7241 Stevens Drive about 1:30 p.m. Saturday. When Finer, 45, didn't resurface, Allred ran for help. By the time help arrived, Finer was floating on the east bank, not breathing, and her lips were blue, according to a report.
Timothy Bowers lifted her out of the water and David Wiley ran to call 911, while Bowers started mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. Paramedics arrived and took over CPR, then took Finer to Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point where she was pronounced dead.
Deputies say Finer, Allred, Wiley and Bowers had all been drinking before the drowning.
