Dear Loyal Friends:
It is with deep sadness that we say goodbye for now. Our decision to leave our home on South Howard Avenue has been one of the most difficult of our lives. This site was home to the first Whaley's — an open-air, sawdust floor market opened by Uncle C.L. Whaley in 1934. Your patronage has been a welcomed part of our family's life as we continuously strived to provide quality food, a warm atmosphere and excellent service. We observed these traditions for almost 75 years and four generations. Regretfully, for various reasons, we are unable to continue to do business at this location.
We want to take this opportunity to thank you for allowing us to be a significant part of your lives for so many years — celebrations of births, graduations, wedding and holidays. It was also a pleasure to meet your everyday needs — helping you plan a meal, sharing a recipe, providing a quick lunch. Your patronage will always be valued, and we will miss you greatly. Please share our sentiments with others. God bless you and keep you until we meet again!
Sincerely,
The Whaley Family
