TAMPA - Police and neighborhood watch groups around Tampa today are inviting residents to celebrate National Night Out by meeting them to learn about crime-fighting and community resources at 14 locations.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of National Night Out, designed to strengthen neighborhood spirit and community partnerships.
Here are the locations, organized by general geographic area:
East Tampa
• Ybor City, East 11th Avenue and North 25th Street, 3 to 6 p.m.
• Tampa Police District 3 (conference room), 3808 N. 22nd St., 5 to 7 p.m.
• Giddens Park, 5202 N. 12th St., 6 to 9 p.m.
• Rivercrest Park, 4802 N. River Blvd. (gazebo), 6:30 to 8 p.m.
• Duran Park, 1298 Coral St., 7 to 9 p.m.
South Tampa And West Tampa
• Macfarlane Park, 1700 N. MacDill Ave. (Pavilion 410), 5:30 to 8 p.m.
• North Bon Air, 3920 W. Carmen St., 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
• Target, Gandy Boulevard and South Dale Mabry Highway, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
North Tampa And New Tampa
• J.L. Young Apartments, 8220 N. Florida Ave., 5 to 8 p.m.
• Heritage Isles Golf & Country Club, 10630 Plantation Bay Drive, 6 to 8 p.m.; police Chief Stephen Hogue will appear.
• Hunter's Green Capt. Hunter Nathaniel Park, 9456 Highland Oak Drive, 6 to 8 p.m.; police Chief Stephen Hogue will appear.
• Henry and Ola Park, 502 W. Henry Ave., 6 to 8 p.m.
